The Abandoned Raja Muda Palace in Teluk Intan

A palace that was once the grand official residence of the Raja Muda of Perak and a significant part of the Sultanate's heritage. This palace is also known as the Teluk Intan Palace and played an important role in history, serving as an icon for Teluk Intan in the past.

Today, the condition of this palace is truly saddening as it has been abandoned and left to the ravages of time. This Old Raja Muda Palace is located on Jalan Syed Abu Bakar in Teluk Intan, Perak. The Teluk Intan Palace was built around 1922 and served as the official residence for the Raja Muda of Perak. The first Raja Muda to reside here was Sultan Abdul Aziz al-Mutasim Billah Shah ibni al-Marhum, who was Raja Muda Musa at the time, before later becoming the 31st Sultan of Perak.

The palace was last occupied by the late Raja Muda Ahmad Siffuddin. In 1988, the official residence for

was relocated to the Istana Tetamu in Ipoh.

Since then, the palace that was once the grand official residence of the Raja Muda of Perak has been abandoned and left unused. Its current condition is dire as it is no longer maintained by any party.

If this Teluk Intan Palace continues to be neglected, it may one day be reclaimed by the wilderness, as there is no one left to care for and preserve this palace that once provided shelter to the beloved Raja Muda of Perak.
