In 1951, Tuan Haji Mohd Tamin successfully discovered a recipe to produce high-quality and delicious soy sauce! Originally, the Tamin soy sauce business started on a small scale in Batu Gajah, Perak.
Tuan Haji Mohd Tamin, the founder of Tamin brand soy sauce, started his business with a capital of only RM10. This certainly makes the people of Batu Gajah proud of this great figure.
When Tuan Haji Mohd Tamin first started his business, he was equipped with strong spirit and determination. Thanks to his efforts, he managed to produce about 700 bottles of soy sauce in a single day with the help of his own family members.
With such a small production capacity at that time, the main focus was to ensure that hygiene, quality, and taste were not compromised. The process of selecting and mixing ingredients such as soybeans, wheat flour, and others was done meticulously to ensure the quality of the soy sauce remained delicious and guaranteed.
After a year of small-scale business, the demand for Tamin brand soy sauce exceeded expectations. Tamin brand soy sauce became increasingly well-known among housewives and the surrounding village community.
Many young people from the villages who migrated to urban areas would bring Tamin brand soy sauce with them, and indirectly, they were the ones who introduced this delicious and appetizing soy sauce to the city dwellers.
Demand for Tamin Soy Sauce
To meet the ever-increasing demand at that time, Tuan Haji Mohd Tamin seized the opportunity to take steps to increase production to 3,500 bottles per day.
Establishing a New Factory
The increasing demand for Tamin brand soy sauce became the motivation for Tuan Haji Mohd Tamin to establish a Tamin soy sauce factory in Enggor, located not far from the Royal Town of Perak in Kuala Kangsar.
More workers were hired to increase production up to 9,000 bottles in a single day. Today, Tamin brand soy sauce can be found throughout Peninsular Malaysia.
