The Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) has recognized 49-year-old Murad Mohd Kassim for his effort in kayaking against the current of Sungai Perak for 350.92 kilometers.

Murad Mohd Kassim dedicated his achievement to the 35th Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, as Sungai Perak is closely linked to the history of the Perak sultanate. This national solo kayaker is also a native of Perak, and his dedication to the Sultan serves as a sign of his loyalty as a subject.

"I dedicate this success to the Sultan of Perak. This is not the first time I have dedicated my achievements to His Royal Highness. Previously, I also dedicated my solo rafting journey from Kuala Kangsar to Pasir Salak to him. So, for this record-breaking success in the Sungai Perak River Legend Expedition for the MBOR, this is the second time I have dedicated my achievement to him. Daulat Tuanku," said Murad Mohd Kassim in an excerpt from Sinar Harian online.
