Respect the Perak State Anthem
The school students sang the Perak state anthem in Malay!
Notice how confusing this situation is. The Perak state anthem is not Negaraku, and it is sung in Malay, not Mandarin. Yet, it was rudely twisted by political leaders who incite racial tension.
Imagine such a video being spread in WhatsApp groups accompanied by captions that supposedly stir up spirit, when in reality, they are completely unaware of the ignorance being displayed. Shameful! The mistake is so obvious, yet no apology is offered because they are more comfortable basking in false euphoria, as if dreaming of a repeat of the May 13 incident.
We at Orang Perak feel very disappointed with the attitude of politicians who are ignorant about the Perak state anthem and end up slandering other races who sang this anthem properly. This is indirectly an insult to the Sultan and the state of Perak!
We urge the relevant political leaders to issue a public apology and promise not to repeat such irresponsible behavior.
