National Historians Council Launched, A New Pillar for Elevating the Nation's History

The Madani Government, through the Ministry of National Unity, made history today by launching the National Historians Council for the first time, an authoritative body that will serve as a primary reference in upholding the nobility and integrity of the nation's history.

This newly formed council is seen as an official platform to advise the government and address any disputes arising regarding national historical facts. It also functions as an important forum to discuss issues and challenges in historical writing and education.

According to the official statement, the key roles of the National Historians Council include:

Generating new ideas to strengthen inclusive history education, in line with Malaysia's identity as a multiracial nation.

i) Proposing preventive measures to ensure historical facts are not distorted or manipulated by irresponsible parties.

ii) Recommending the empowerment of authentic, credible, and authoritative historical sources in all national historical writings.

iii) The establishment of this council has been welcomed by various parties, including history enthusiasts and the general public.

For the people of Perak in particular, this step is considered significant in elevating the dignity of the nation's history, while ensuring that the national heritage continues to be preserved and appreciated by future generations.

With the establishment of the National Historians Council, Malaysia is now a step forward in strengthening national identity through a more transparent, inclusive, and credible history.
