Three State Parks in Perak That Many People Don't Know About

06 Mar 2018 · 3 min read · 323 ·By Freddie Aziz Jasbindar

Perbadanan Taman Negeri Perak was established in accordance with the Perak State Park Corporation Enactment 2001 (Sec 6), which made the Perak State Park Corporation a statutory body of the Perak State Government.

It was established based on the state government's initiative to protect natural treasures that are still preserved. They began operating as a corporation on January 1, 2004, to become a high-capacity organization in maintaining and managing ecosystem diversity towards mutual harmony. Returning to the main purpose of this article, it is to provide information about three state parks in Perak that many people are unaware of and overlook. This is important information to showcase our spirit as children of Perak who love nature.

1. Royal Belum

About 200 years ago, Kampung Belum Lama was opened by a royal couple from the Patani / Siam Kingdom (under the rule of Raja Reman / Rahman) known as Wan Agas. However, the locals called them by the names Tok Mekong Gas and Tok Pulang Hari. During the British occupation of Malaya, the Belum Lama district was placed under the state of Perak based on the Anglo-Siamese Treaty of 1909. An agreement signed between the United Kingdom and the Siamese government led to the creation of Kampung Belum Baru several years later by the British during the Malayan Emergency.

It is quite famous among anglers because there is a lot of marine life here. Most visitors only visit these islands by boat without staying overnight. Usually, they rent boats at the small harbor and visit the islands for picnics. Pulau Lalang has the best beach. You can fish in the area and then enjoy fresh fish by cooking (BBQ) it for lunch on one of these best beaches.
