In the heart of Taiping Lake Gardens lies a roller skating rink built about 40 years ago. Interestingly, this rink was built through sincere donations from various levels of society in Taiping in collaboration with various parties.

This rink was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Taiping town and was officiated by Sultan Idris Shah, the 33rd Sultan of Perak, on August 25, 1975. It was a project by the Rotary Club of Taiping in collaboration with the Inner Wheel Club, Rotaract Club, and the Interact Club of St. George's School, Taiping. The location of this rink is near Jalan Kedamaian, a path in the middle of Taiping Lake Gardens that is now reserved for pedestrians only.
