‘Si Buta Huruf Jadi Pengetua’ Anthology Launched in Kerian
‘Si Buta Huruf Jadi Pengetua’ is an anthology detailing the life stories of 17 principals and educational leaders in the Kerian district, Parit Buntar, Perak. The book was launched to immortalize their life experiences as educators.
Mohd Saad Hashim, President of the Malaysian School Principals Council (MPSM) for the Kerian district, stated that the book was their initiative to delve into the character and the bittersweet life journey of individuals who started as ordinary teachers before successfully reaching the highest position in school as principals.
According to Mohd Saad Hashim, the collection of works from these principals and educational leaders resulted in the book ‘Si Buta Huruf Menjadi Pengetua’, which contains 17 accounts of their experiences from their early days as teachers up to their retirement. All the stories included in this work are true accounts experienced by each author, with the delivery translated into a narrative format to ensure readers remain engaged.
Mohd Saad Hashim also noted that through this book, many lessons can be learned by teachers, students, and educational leaders to better appreciate the trust placed in them through the interesting issues presented. He said this during the launch ceremony of the ‘Si Buta Huruf Jadi Pengetua’ anthology for the Kerian district level.
Mohd Saad also informed that his team took approximately six months to complete the book, and 1,000 copies have been printed for distribution nationwide. At an affordable price, a copy costs only RM15. Interested individuals can obtain the book through the Kerian District Education Office (PPD) or directly from the Kerian district MPSM.
