Selangor FC Recruits Young Star Moses Raj to Face Malaysia League and International Challenges
Selangor FC, last season's Super League runners-up, continue to strengthen their preparations for the Malaysia League (M-League), AFC Champions League 2 (ACL2), and the 2025/26 ASEAN Club Championship by signing talented young defender, Moses Raj.
The 19-year-old began his football career at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Anderson, Ipoh, through the District Training Center (PLD) tournament, before being absorbed into the Perak FC President's Cup squad.
Outstanding Performance at Club and National Levels
While with Perak FC, Moses showed impressive performance by scoring four goals and recording at least five clean sheets. His consistency opened up opportunities for him to be promoted to the team's MFL Cup squad.
His talent did not just shine at the club level. Moses also stole the spotlight when he was selected to represent the Harimau Malaya Under-20 squad in the 2024 U-20 Asian Cup. In fact, he managed to get his name on the scoresheet against Oman in the tournament.
Additionally, Moses became a key pillar for the Perak team that advanced to the semi-finals of the SUKMA football event. His performance further solidified his reputation as one of the most prominent defensive talents in Malaysia today.
Long-term Investment for Selangor FC
According to a statement from Selangor FC, Moses' arrival is seen as a long-term investment and a high-quality successor in the defensive position.
“Moses' speed and intelligence in reading the game will be an important asset in our efforts to reduce the number of goals conceded this season. At the same time, healthy competition among existing defenders can also be created,” explained a representative of the club, which was crowned MFL Challenge Cup champions last season.
With the acquisition of Moses Raj, Selangor FC is expected to have greater squad depth to face various competitions next season. The loyal fans of the Red Giants are surely looking forward to seeing this young star's first action at the MBPJ Stadium.
