Perak State Youth Assembly 2025: 63 Young People Selected, The OrangPerak.com Legacy Continues to Shine
May 14, 2025, marked a significant moment as 63 young people were successfully selected as official members of the 5th Session of the Perak State Youth Assembly, signaling the state government's continued efforts in sowing the seeds of future leadership. This selection is the result of a rigorous process that began with 162 registered candidates, though only 94 candidates actually attended and participated in the four-day Selection Camp at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Tanjong Malim, from May 1 to 4, 2025.
Active Youth Participation in Perak State Democracy
From that number, only the best were selected—those who demonstrated great potential in aspects of leadership, critical thinking, grasp of current issues, interpersonal communication skills, and creativity in presenting ideas and solutions. They do not merely represent the voice of the youth; they are set to become policy initiators, strategic thinkers, and bridges between the youth and the state government.
Perak State Youth Assembly: A Platform for the New Generation's Voice
The Perak State Youth Assembly is not a new entity. It was founded to provide a space for the younger generation to formally convey their aspirations to the state government. It also serves as a bridge between young leaders and government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders in the effort to build a progressive and inclusive Perak.
The establishment of the Youth Assembly is also in line with the Perak Sejahtera 2030 vision, which recognizes youth as catalysts for state development. Under the supervision and strong support of YB Khairudin Abu Hanipah, Chairman of the Perak State Committee for Education, Higher Education, Youth & Sports, various initiatives have been introduced, including the strengthening of training modules, youth involvement in policy development, and the implementation of high-impact grassroots activities.
Inheriting the OrangPerak.com Legacy: From Ariff Zaky and Malik Syam to Dr. Adib
What is interesting about this 5th session is the emergence of Dr. Muhammad Adib as one of the selected representatives. He not only appears as a young representative with great potential but is also an heir to the legacy of the OrangPerak.com team, an educational community platform that has been elevating the history, heritage, and identity of Perak to the digital stage since 2016.
Not just once, but consistently, the Orang Perak team has contributed representatives to the Youth Assembly ranks since several previous sessions:
- Youth Assembly 1 (2017): Ariff Zaky
- Youth Assembly 2 (2019): Malik Syam & Ariff Zaky
- Youth Assembly 3 (2021): Malik Syam & Ariff Zaky
- Youth Assembly 4 (2023): Malik Syam & Ariff Zaky
- Youth Assembly 5 (2025): Dr. Muhammad Adib
This participation proves that OrangPerak.com is not just an ordinary history site, but a movement of thought—generating young leaders who are aware of history, possess a Perak identity, and are ready to contribute on the state stage.
Among the important contributions driven by our team is the development of the digital education platform Didik.pro, an automated drill training system that allows students to generate questions directly in PDF format. This platform facilitates access to quality and free revision materials, especially in core subjects like Mathematics and Languages, suitable for primary and secondary school students.
In addition, we are also directly involved in efforts to preserve and conserve historical heritage sites in Perak, including research on historical locations, site documentation, and restoration proposals to relevant parties through the Perak State Youth Assembly. Proposals such as the “Perak Heritage Trail” presented by Malik Syam at the Youth Assembly are among the concrete initiatives that have led to serious discussions regarding the preservation of the state's heritage.
Beyond that, our team is also actively contributing to the organization of forums, workshops, scholarly writing, and participation in youth policy-making sessions related to heritage and education. All these efforts have been carried out consistently from one Youth Assembly session to the next—proving that the legacy carried by OrangPerak.com is not just digital discourse, but is translated into actions and policies that benefit the community and the state as a whole.
The Role of Education & History in Shaping Youth Leaders
In terms of history, Perak has long been a field for unearthing leadership talent—from the sovereign Perak Sultanate palace to the independence movements pioneered by the state's own sons and daughters. Therefore, it is only fitting that the development of today's young leaders is also founded on an understanding of the value of heritage and state identity.
Platforms like OrangPerak.com have become a bridge connecting today's generation with their state's history—introducing them to past figures, customs, and the unique cultural values of Perak. All candidates selected as heirs to this legacy must carry these values into the Youth Assembly, making their participation not just symbolic but strategic, regardless of which bureau they are assigned to later.
Elevating the Future: What Awaits the 5th Youth Assembly
Now that the line-up of representatives has been announced, focus will shift to forming the organizational structure of the 5th Youth Assembly, setting the agenda, and planning the policies to be brought forward for the upcoming session. With various current challenges such as the economy, education, digitalization, and social issues, their role will become increasingly important.
We at OrangPerak.com believe that the strength of a state begins with the strength of its grassroots—from the hearts and spirits of its youth. Since the inception of this site, we have always supported every effort that builds the identity of Perak's children, whether through historical documentation, cultural heritage, or involvement in platforms like the Perak State Youth Assembly.
