Perak Menteri Besar Chases Cable Thieves
Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri DiRaja Dr. Zambry bin Abdul Kadir uploaded a photo on his Twitter showing a TM contractor worker repairing and reconnecting telephone cables that were stolen yesterday morning, January 27, 2017.
According to the Perak Menteri Besar, he was furious at the actions of the telephone cable thieves and personally chased two of the perpetrators along with his security detail. He posted the following tweet to his official Twitter account: "Telecommunication cable theft is a serious matter. This morning, my security detail and I chased two perpetrators. Workers are forced to reinstall them." A few minutes later, Dato' Seri DiRaja Dr. Zambry bin Abdul Kadir uploaded a second tweet regarding the matter, stating that he views these telephone cable theft cases in Manjung very seriously. He added that there is information suggesting certain places are buying stolen goods, which encourages thieves to continue stealing these cables. He also urged the police to investigate and treat this matter with urgency.
