Datuk Ustaz Mohammad Kazim Bin Elias (UKE) was born in Kampung Paya, Batu Kurau, Perak on November 28, 1972. He is the 7th of 9 siblings. His mother, Nazirah Binti Ismail, was a religious teacher at a school in Batu Kurau, and his father was also a religious teacher who passed away when Datuk Ustaz Mohammad Kazim Bin Elias was only 8 months old.
According to his family lineage, both his grandparents were also active religious teachers in the Batu Kurau district around the early 1900s. It is no surprise that Datuk Ustaz Mohammad Kazim Bin Elias received a solid religious upbringing and inherited the knowledge passed down through his family. When his mother was transferred to serve in Sungkai, he continued his schooling at Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Besout in Felda Gunung Besout 1. At the secondary level, he continued his studies at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Besout in Felda Gunung Besout 1. It was here that he began to show leadership qualities when he was appointed as a prefect and head student, and indirectly began to deepen his religious knowledge through books obtained from the school library. Due to his deep interest in religious studies, he applied for and successfully entered Sekolah Agama Syubbaniah in Batu Kurau and sat for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). He then continued his studies at the Maahad Tahfiz Al Quran and Qiraat Negeri Perak at the Perak State Mosque, where he obtained a Diploma in Tahfiz Al Quran. Such was his persistence in seeking knowledge to strengthen himself in the Islamic faith.
After completing his studies at the Maahad Tahfiz Al Quran and Qiraat at the Perak State Mosque, he began teaching as a part-time teacher at Maahad Tahfiz Al Quran Addin, Tualang Sekah in Malim Nawar in 1993. Additionally, he was invited to become a lecturer at the Perak State Branch of the Family Service Center, a family counseling center, in 1994. It was at this center that he first gained exposure to various family issues and problems. Although he was still young at the time, the spiritual and religious approach he used was able to resolve family issues and problems. Through his success there, he was appointed as the director of the counseling center in 1996. Furthermore, he served as the Imam for Masjid Al Aulia, located on Jalan Kuala Kangsar, Ipoh, Perak, until 2001.
Today, Datuk Ustaz Mohammad Kazim Bin Elias is widely known not only in the state of Perak but throughout Malaysia. Because of the comedic and relaxed approach used by Datuk Ustaz Kazim during his lectures, he is able to attract listeners of all ages, both young and old.
