Perak Has the Highest Number of MRSM in Malaysia
Maktab Rendah Sains Mara, better known by its acronym MRSM, was established under the Majlis Amanah Rakyat Act in 1966 as an effort to achieve MARA's goals in the fields of training and education. MRSM was founded to provide secondary and pre-university level education in science and technology for Bumiputera students with high intellectual ability.
Perak currently has 8 MRSM institutions standing proudly across the state. From the north to the south of Perak, MRSM campuses have been built in small towns, often located far from urban areas. The presence of MRSM in these small towns indirectly helps develop the local economy, as these areas become focal points following the establishment of the colleges.
