Ipoh – The state of Perak today is flying the state flag at half-mast as a sign of final respect to the fifth Prime Minister of Malaysia, the late Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who passed away recently.

The directive was issued following the decree of the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, to express the sorrow and sympathy of all Perak residents over the passing of the former national leader.

According to the Perak State Secretary, Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, the half-mast flag display is to be implemented immediately at all government premises, including public offices, official residences, and government quarters throughout the state.

“This half-mast display is specifically for the Perak State Flag only. All departments, agencies, and relevant parties are reminded to carry out this decree with full decorum and respect,” he emphasized in an official statement.

This measure reflects the state of Perak's deep appreciation for the late Tun Abdullah's immense contributions to the nation, while serving as a symbol of the people's grief over the loss of a respected statesman.
