Perak FC Ceases Operations, Awaits MFL Financial Aid to Settle Debts

Perak FC has announced an immediate cessation of operations due to a financial crisis, forcing the club to rely entirely on Malaysian Football League (MFL) funds to settle outstanding salaries for players, coaches, and staff.

In an official statement, the management revealed that the club has run out of funds after investing over RM40 million in the last three years.

“The investment includes efforts to settle an RM8 million debt left by the previous management, in addition to annual operating expenses of around RM10 million,” the statement explained.

For now, Perak FC is managing the sale of training equipment and remaining merchandise to raise funds while awaiting financial assistance from the MFL.

“We are striving to settle outstanding obligations as best as possible with available resources,” the statement added.

Last Season's Performance & Drastic Measures

Perak FC finished the 2024/25 Super League season in seventh place with 30 points, resulting from eight wins, six draws, and 10 losses.

As a cost-cutting measure, the club has released its import players and paid a portion of the salaries for local staff and players. However, the remaining debt can only be settled if MFL assistance is received.

Players & Staff Released

All player and staff contracts have been terminated, allowing them to seek new opportunities at other clubs.

“The decision not to participate in any competitions next season has been communicated to all parties. We truly appreciate their commitment as well as the solid support from the Yob and Yong fans throughout this time,” said a management representative.

With this move, the Perak FC era must temporarily come to a close, awaiting a final resolution from the MFL to secure the future of the once-feared club.
