Perak-Born Couple Hosts Malacca Sultanate-Themed Wedding

It was a different story for a couple from Bagan Datuk, Perak, who concluded their journey to the wedding dais with a unique theme on September 24, 2016. Their wedding reception was themed after the Malacca Sultanate era. It was written in their destiny that the groom, Pangiran Nurdian Syah Bin Zainal Abidin, and his queen, Nor'ain Binti Khalipah, would meet and get to know each other in Shah Alam. Their love blossomed into an engagement after knowing each other for about 7 months. Interestingly, they only recently discovered that they shared the same roots, having attended the same school, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Khir Johari, in Sungai Sumun, Bagan Datuk.

We received information from a friend of the couple that because both are practitioners of silat and deeply embody the Malay spirit, they unanimously decided to make their wedding reflect the Malacca Sultanate era.
The blessings and approval from both sets of parents further encouraged the couple to hold the Malacca Sultanate-themed wedding they had dreamed of. For your information, nearly 30 silat masters from all over Malaysia came to celebrate and indirectly support the attire and theme of their wedding.
The dais, or more appropriately called the 'Balairong Seri' (Audience Hall) for this event, was specially created by Sanggar Masri Klasik with an estimated cost between RM5,000 and RM10,000. The total cost for the event, which was held at the Hotel Grand Campbell Kuala Lumpur, was approximately RM50,000.
