There are a total of twelve districts in Perak, and Perak is the second largest state in Peninsular Malaysia after the state of Pahang Darul Makmur.

The state of Perak shares borders with other states such as Kedah, Penang, Kelantan, Pahang, and Selangor. Additionally, Perak also has an international border with Thailand, adjacent to the Yala Province.

The Perak Sultanate has a history that began in 1528 with the coronation of Sultan Mudzaffar Shah I. He was the second son and a descendant of Sultan Mahmud Shah of the Malacca Sultanate. Therefore, the Perak Sultanate is a direct descendant of the Malacca Sultanate.

The Kampar District was declared the 10th district of Perak on May 21, 2009, by the late Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah ibni Almarhum Yussuf Izzuddin Shah (the 34th Sultan of Perak). The name Kampar itself shares a name with the town of Kampar in Sumatra, Indonesia. Malaysian historians acknowledge that the name of this town was taken from the name Kampar, Indonesia. The connection between these two names exists through the trade conducted by the residents of both towns, with their primary trade being the sale of tobacco and copper pottery tools.

Muallim District, Perak

The Muallim District is the eleventh district in Perak. This district was declared by Sultan Nazrin Muizzudin Shah (the 35th Sultan of Perak) on January 11, 2016, at the Dewan Seri Tanjong, Tanjung Malim District Council. This district was previously part of the Batang Padang district.

Bagan Datuk District, Perak

The Bagan Datuk District was originally part of the Hilir Perak district, which is centered in Teluk Intan. In January 2016, the Bagan Datuk sub-district was created, and this sub-district was later gazetted by the Perak state government as a full district on July 15, 2016. In the Perak State Executive Council meeting on November 22, 2016, it was decided that the district would be spelled as Bagan Datuk, starting from the day of its declaration on January 9, 2017.

Taiping tak dikira sbg mukim ke? Tengok dlm mukim LMS, takda taiping tp ada kamunting. Pening sikit sbb taiping dgn kamunting poskod no lain.

Kangsar ialah nama pokok yg pernah dikenali juga sbg Kapas-kapas. Nama botaninya ialah Hybiscus floccosus. Namun folk-history kata Kangsar dari sumber kata, itu Kurang-sa mnkl ada kononnya dari kata Konsol (pertemuan/majlis Raja-raja NMB). Kurang-sa takbetul dari segi fakta yakni Sg Kangsar bukan cabang-sungai yg ke-99, mudik dari KualaPerak. Konsol/Council sangat tak manasabah, sebab nama Sungai->Kuala Kangsar sudah pun ada sebelum 1896.
