Hari Raya Aidiladha, also known as Hari Raya Korban, is one of the most important celebrations in the Islamic calendar, symbolizing the sacrifice and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim a.s. and his son, Prophet Ismail a.s.. In the state of Perak, the Aidiladha celebration is not merely carried out through the act of qurban slaughter, but is also illuminated by the grace and blessings of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.

In this year of 1446 Hijrah, His Royal Highness once again demonstrated his concern and commitment to ensuring that the qurban ritual is carried out perfectly throughout the state of Perak, including in the Kampar District.

The Gift of Qurban Cattle as a Symbol of His Royal Highness's Concern

As a sign of love and care for the people, HRH Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah has gifted three qurban cattle for every district in the State of Perak, including Kampar. This gift is not merely a material contribution, but carries a deeper meaning—as a symbol of sacrifice, the unification of the ummah, and a leader's care for the well-being of his people.

The qurban ritual itself holds high value in Islam, as it not only brings the servant closer to the Creator but also strengthens social bonds within the community. Through this contribution, the Sultan has manifested the spirit of sharing sustenance and helping those in need, especially the asnaf who are entitled to receive the qurban meat.

Qurban Cattle Handover Ceremony at Masjid Jamek Kota Hari, Gopeng

To carry out the qurban ritual in the Kampar District, HRH Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah consented to Masjid Jamek Kota Hari, Gopeng, as the location for this noble act. The selection of this mosque is not a coincidence, but reflects the Sultan's trust in the role of the mosque institution as a center for community development and social unity.

The handover ceremony for the qurban cattle was represented by Toh Muda Orang Kaya-kaya Panglima Bukit Gantang Seri Amar Diraja, who is also the Kampar District Chief, Tuan Azman Bin Dato’ Seri Yeop Junior. His presence as the Sultan's representative added to the solemnity of the ceremony, while demonstrating the state government's seriousness in ensuring the qurban ritual is conducted with full order and blessings.

The event began with the recitation of the Handover Agreement (Akad), which signifies the transfer of ownership of the qurban cattle to be slaughtered for the purpose of the ritual. This agreement is not just a formality, but carries profound religious significance—ensuring that the qurban ritual is performed according to Sharia and with sincere intentions.

This gift from HRH Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah not only facilitates the performance of the qurban ritual but also acts as a catalyst for the spirit of unity and harmony among the community in the Kampar District. The qurban ritual teaches us the meaning of sacrifice, gratitude, and concern for the plight of others.

May this gift from His Royal Highness allow this year's qurban ritual to be carried out with full blessings and bring benefits to the entire community, especially the underprivileged. The presence of His Royal Highness, even through a representative, leaves a deep impression on the hearts of the people, proving that caring and fair leadership is always the pillar of excellence for Negeri Perak Darul Ridzuan.

In conclusion, let us together appreciate the true meaning of sacrifice, not only on the day of qurban, but throughout our lives as servants of Allah who always strive to draw closer to Him.
