The late Raja Ashman served as Sheikh Nazim's representative in Malaysia and Singapore. He was also known as Sheikh Raja in the Sufi order and established the Zawiya Naqshbandi in Kuala Lumpur. The late Raja Ashman was highly respected and revered by the public for his practices and deep interest in Islamic religious knowledge.

Noraini Jane binti Kamarul Ariffin married the late Raja Ashman on September 26, 1991, in Kuala Kangsar. His wife is the daughter of Kamarul Ariffin bin Muhammad Yassin, a former Senator and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Art Gallery. This happy couple was blessed with three children, one of whom is a son and two are daughters.

The wife and children of the late Raja Ashman Shah
The late Raja Ashman Shah passed away on March 30, 2012, at approximately 1:30 AM due to an asthma attack at his residence in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur. His remains were then taken to the Ubudiah Mosque, Bukit Chandan in Kuala Kangsar for funeral prayers and were finally laid to rest at the Bukit Chandan Royal Mausoleum, located next to the Ubudiah Mosque.
