Facts About Sungai Perak
The 400km-long Sungai Perak flows from Hulu Perak, originating from the Titiwangsa Range down to Beting Beras Basah, the location where the first Sultan of Perak arrived in Bagan Datoh before reaching the Straits of Malacca. Sungai Perak is the second-longest river in Peninsular Malaysia after Sungai Pahang.
Sungai Perak also has many tributaries. Among them are Sungai Bidor and Sungai Kinta. Both rivers were famous for tin mining activities from around 1850 to 1980.

Throughout the river valley, it has contributed significantly to human life for hundreds of years. There are also 4 hydroelectric dams on Sungai Perak. They are the Bersia Dam, Kenering Dam, Chenderoh Dam, and Temenggor Dam, with the latter three located near Gerik.
