Extension of Sultan Yusuf Bridge Closure (Sitiawan - Sabak Bernam) for 4 Months
The Perak Public Works Department (JKR) has issued a notice regarding the Sultan Yusuf Bridge, which connects Sitiawan and Sabak Bernam, stating it is now closed for a period of 4 months to facilitate maintenance and repair works.

"We regret to inform you that the closure of the Sultan Yusuf Bridge on FT005 must be extended following the discovery of serious defects that could compromise the structural integrity and affect the safety of the bridge. The closure is expected to last for four months to allow for bridge reinforcement works to be carried out. Road users are advised to use alternative routes as shown in the diagrams accompanying the Public Works Department's Media Statement.
We deeply regret the inconvenience experienced by road users due to these necessary works, which are being carried out to ensure the safety of all road users. Please comply with the instructions on the safety signs installed at the construction site." Below is the notice issued by the Perak Public Works Department's Facebook page, which was updated on August 27, 2017. "Please be informed that as of now, this bridge remains closed to all vehicles until a later date. This closure is in place for bridge component maintenance works that are still being carried out by JKR and the contractors. Alternative route signage has been placed starting from Taman Desa Aman (Teluk Intan FT005), while from the Sitiawan side, it will be placed at the Felda Changkat Lada junction (A266). Users are asked to remain patient and follow the directional and safety signs provided on the affected roads. Today's inconvenience is for our collective future benefit.
