Dengue Outbreak on the Rise in Ipoh and Taiping
The number of Dengue cases in the Larut Matang and Selama District has been found to be increasing compared to the previous year. Recently, several areas around Taiping town have been fogged to eliminate Aedes mosquito breeding grounds. It is not just in Taiping; several areas in Ipoh are experiencing the same situation.
Below is the list of affected areas in the state of Perak, based on the Perak State Weekly Dengue/Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever Report for Week 17 of 2017 (Date from 23/04/2017 to 29/04/2017) obtained from the Perak State Health Department website. Uncontrolled Outbreaks:

The following is the content of a WhatsApp message sent by Dr. Zaki from the Larut Matang and Selama District Health Office. He provided several useful tips for the public and suggested that everyone should become a hero in preventing the spread of this outbreak.
We also hope that all residents of Perak can work together to combat the Dengue outbreak and eliminate Aedes mosquito breeding grounds, just as the Young Doctors Club of TMGS (Taiping Methodist Girls School) and the Taman Kami (D) Rukun Tetangga did at the end of last April in the Aulong area, Taiping.
This is also in line with the Clean Perak Campaign program launched by the Menteri Besar of Perak on March 31, 2017, aimed at making Perak a state free from litter and various diseases.
