is a remote location in the Gerik district. Because of its inland location and surrounding dense jungle, it made it easier for the communists to carry out an unexpected ambush. Their intention to govern Malaya through the force and cruelty used by the communists failed to attract the people to join their struggle. It cannot be denied that the cruelty of the communist fighters was not limited to one race only, and it is inappropriate for some to consider certain communists as worthy of being hailed as independence fighters. Let us never forget, because it was our ancestors who sacrificed everything to build a sovereign, independent nation.
