Blue Pool Simpang Pulai, Not a Recreational Area

30 Jan 2019 · 2 min read · 99 ·By Freddie Aziz Jasbindar

Recently, photos and a video montage of a blue-water mining lake in Simpang Pulai have been circulating on Facebook.

It is quite beautiful and has excited many residents around Perak upon learning of the lake's existence. Dubbed the 'Blue Pool Simpang Pulai', it has suddenly become a focal point for people wanting to witness the beauty of the blue mining lake for themselves. Because of this, the former mine has been continuously receiving visitors from both near and far. For your information, the location of this blue-water mining lake in Simpang Pulai is actually situated within a mining company's property and is a restricted area, off-limits to the public.

Mr. Chooi Yim Onn, 65, who works as the manager of the mining company, expressed his concern for the safety of the public, as more and more people are visiting and trespassing into their company's property just to see the beauty of the blue lake.

The mining company has filed a police report and will not be held responsible should any untoward incidents occur to visitors. This is because the blue-water mining lake is actually extremely deep and very dangerous.

Blue Pool Simpang Pulai is not a tourism product of Perak state; it is merely a lake formed as a result of mining activities.

To prevent the public from entering the mining company's blue lake area, the company has installed fencing, yet some still trespass to get there.

Security guards stationed to prevent the public from entering the area are being ignored. Even though the gates are locked, people still sneak into the area. Warning signs have also been placed to caution the public against trespassing.

The public, and residents of Perak in particular, are urged to comply with the mining company's request not to trespass on their property, as the company will not be held responsible for any untoward incidents involving members of the public who visit. Credits for photos, videos, and information:
