Al-Madinah Mosque Cleaning Program in Kampung Bandar

A gotong-royong (community clean-up) program to clean Al-Madinah Mosque, Kampung Bandor, was held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in collaboration with several Kampung Bandor residents, Tahfiz teachers, and Cikgu Rezal representing the Orang Perak team.

This cleaning activity focused on the main prayer hall and its surrounding areas, including the tomb of the Perak State Scholar, Sheikh Muhammad Taib Al-Minangkabawi. The program was carried out as an initial preparation to revive the function of the mosque, which has been proposed to be turned into a Tahfiz Study Center.

Al-Madinah Mosque holds significant historical value as its construction involved timber donated by Panglima Kinta, Muhammad Yusuf, to a renowned religious figure, Tuan Guru Haji Idris Al-Minangkabawi, during the construction of the Panglima Kinta Mosque in 1898.

Furthermore, this mosque was once a major hub for Islamic studies for students from around Hilir Perak and Perak Tengah.

Close cooperation from the Penghulu of Mukim Bandor is expected to facilitate the management of Al-Madinah Mosque in the future, after the mosque has been inactive for so long.

This program aims not only to clean the physical structure of the mosque but also to revive the spirit of Islam and scholarship that once flourished there.
