Yayasan Waqaf Malaysia Reaches Out to the Teluk Intan Community Through the Waqaf Warisan Tour Program
On September 28, 2025, Yayasan Waqaf Malaysia, in collaboration with the Hilir Perak District Chief's Office, which fully supported the initiative by the Teluk Intan Malay Mosque Imarah Group, organized the Santai Komuniti Madani program through the Teluk Intan Waqaf Warisan Cycling Tour.
This meaningful program was officiated by Dr. Ridwan Bakar, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Waqaf Malaysia. The event was also attended by the Orang Kaya-Kaya Laksamana Raja Mahkota and Hilir Perak District Chief, Dato Meor Redwan Bin Mahayuddin, the Orang Besar 32 of Perak, YDH Toh Mahkota Lela and YDH Toh Bahtera Diraja, the Hilir Perak District Officer, the President of the Teluk Intan Municipal Council, the Hilir Perak District Police Chief, and several other distinguished officials.
The Teluk Intan Waqaf Warisan Cycling Tour visited several historical locations. The ride began at the Old Teluk Intan Courthouse and headed towards the Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan. It then continued to Madrasah Ihsaniah, a famous old madrasah in Perak. Subsequently, the ride proceeded to the Teluk Intan Indian Muslim Mosque, the Teluk Intan Malay Mosque, and concluded at the Sultan Idris Shah II District Mosque.
The participants stopped at each location and were given a brief historical briefing about the buildings by a representative from the Team Orang Perak, Cikgu Rezal. Through this program, various high-value contributions were donated to the Teluk Intan town community, including RM107,940 to assist schools, madrasahs, and those in need.
A total of RM30,000 was contributed by Bank Rakyat for the installation of solar panels at the Teluk Intan Malay Mosque, and the Al Falah My Waqaf PTPTN scholarship amounting to RM26,363.59 was awarded to two students from Teluk Intan to pursue their higher education.
Indeed, this program, involving Yayasan Waqaf Malaysia in collaboration with the Hilir Perak District Chief's Office, has ensured that welfare in the form of Waqaf is channeled to those in need, while providing comprehensive benefits to the local community.
