Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Passes Away at 85
KUALA LUMPUR, April 14, 2025 – The nation mourns the passing of the fifth Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who breathed his last at 7:10 PM last night at the National Heart Institute (IJN). The heartbreaking news was confirmed by former Rembau Member of Parliament, Khairy Jamaluddin, who is also his son-in-law, through a social media post.
Tun Abdullah, more affectionately known as "Pak Lah", leaves behind a significant legacy in the nation's administration throughout his tenure from 2003 to 2009. His passing will certainly be felt by all Malaysians, especially those who served under his leadership.
The late leader's health was said to have been declining in recent times, yet his resilience and smile will always be remembered by those close to him.
The remains are expected to be brought to the National Mosque tomorrow for funeral prayers before burial. Further information regarding the funeral arrangements will be shared by the family shortly.
