The Longest Mural in Perak is in Taiping

This newly completed mural is set to be a tourist attraction in Taiping for Visit Perak Year 2017. The mural, which showcases 10 historical buildings in Taiping, is said to be the longest in Perak, measuring 100 meters long and 6.38 meters high.

Historical locations and icons of Taiping, all over 100 years old, served as the inspiration for this mural. These icons include the Clock Tower, All Saints' Church, the Old Malay Mosque, Perak Museum, SK King Edward VII, Matang Museum (Kota Ngah Ibrahim), Bukit Larut, Taiping Railway Station, and Port Weld.

The mural is located in the heart of Taiping in Assam Kumbang, on the railway overpass next to the Antong Coffee Mill.

This mural is the work of students and lecturers from the Faculty of Art, Computing and Creative Industry, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), who worked tirelessly for 4 days and 3 nights, from 8 am until 6 am the following day.

Students were divided into two groups, painting during the day and at night. To ensure the success of this project, the Taiping Tourism Association and Antong Coffee Mill provided full cooperation and support in the effort to further beautify Taiping.
