The 11th Inspector-General of Police is a Perak Native

A Perak native born in Batu 16, Lambor Kanan, Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun, has been appointed as the new Inspector-General of Police, effective September 4, 2017.

Following the retirement of Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar as Inspector-General of Police on September 4, 2017, a Perak native born in Batu 16, Lambor Kanan, named Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun, has been appointed as the new Inspector-General of Police, effective September 4, 2017.

For the information of our loyal readers at orangperak.com, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar retired as a police officer after 41 years of service upon reaching the age of 60. Consequently, the Director of the Bukit Aman Special Branch, Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun, was appointed as the 11th Inspector-General of Police to replace Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.

This Lambor Kanan native, who is the pride of the entire Perak Tengah community, was appointed at the age of 58, leaving him two years before mandatory retirement. He has been serving with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) since November 6, 1975.

Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun holds impressive academic qualifications. Among them are a Bachelor's Degree (Honours) from Universiti Malaya (UM) and a Master's Degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in Anthropology and Sociology.

He has also held various positions within the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM). Among the positions held by Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun are Negeri Sembilan Police Chief, Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, Selangor Police Chief, Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Head of the Criminal Investigation Division at the Ipoh and Taiping District Police Headquarters, and Director of the Special Task Force (Operations/Counter Terrorism) at Bukit Aman. In 2014, Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun also served as the acting Deputy Inspector-General of Police for several months following the mandatory retirement of the incumbent at the time, Tan Sri Mohd Bakri Zinin.
