Sultan Mukaddam Shah (6th Sultan of Perak)
In 1603, following the passing of the late Sultan Alauddin Shah, Raja Tua, who was the son of the late Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin's sister and the late Sultan Tajul Ariffin, was appointed as the 6th Sultan of Perak.
The 6th Sultan of Perak, Sultan Mukaddam Shah, resided in an area now known as Bota Kanan. According to oral traditions passed down through generations by local residents, one of Sultan Mukaddam Shah's daughters was exceptionally beautiful. The Sultan's daughter was named Puteri Limau Purut and was betrothed to her cousin, Raja Mansur (the younger brother of Sultan Alauddin Shah, the 5th Sultan of Perak).

Consequently, a marriage proposal from the King of Aceh for Puteri Limau Purut was rejected by Sultan Mukaddam Shah. This angered the King of Aceh and left him dissatisfied. As a result, an Acehnese military force arrived to wage war against Perak. At the beginning of the conflict, the Sultan and the Queen of Perak were captured by the Acehnese army. Similarly, Puteri Limau Purut was also captured along with her nanny, Esah Gerbang, and her attendants by the Acehnese forces. All captives were taken to Aceh.

Death is in the hands of God; Sultan Mukaddam Shah later passed away while in Aceh. During that time, a Perak dignitary named Megat Abdullah (Bendahara Garang) launched a rescue operation for the captives. Thanks to the efforts and bravery of Megat Abdullah, Puteri Limau Purut was successfully brought back to Perak and married to her fiancé, Raja Mansur. Towards the end of the late Sultan Mukaddam Shah's reign in 1619, Iskandar Muda Mahkota Alam (the Sultan of Aceh), who was a formidable ruler at the time, sent his military forces to attack and reconquer Perak and other states on the Malay Peninsula.

To this day, the exact location of Sultan Mukaddam Shah's tomb remains unknown and cannot be traced. What is certain is that it is located in Aceh, outside the state of Perak. References
