Sultan Alauddin Shah (5th Sultan of Perak)
In 1594, after Sultan Tajul Ariffin passed away with the title Marhum Mangkat di Tebing, Raja Ali, who was the grandson of the late Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin Shah, was appointed as the 5th Sultan of Perak.
He ascended the throne of Perak with the title Sultan Alauddin Shah (5th Sultan of Perak) and resided by the river in an area now known as Bota Kanan. Sultan Alauddin Shah ruled the state of Perak for approximately nine years from 1594 until 1603, and he was posthumously titled Marhum Mangkat di Darat. The administrative center of the late Sultan Alauddin Shah was located in Bota, and during his reign, Aceh still stationed several Acehnese dignitaries to oversee and administer the state of Perak.
Sultan Alauddin passed away in 1603 and was titled Marhum Mangkat Di Darat. Originally, he was buried on the banks of the Perak River at the tip of Pulau Bota. Because the tomb was at risk of collapsing into the river, the tomb of Sultan Alauddin Shah was relocated behind a row of shops in the town of Bota Kanan.
The location of the late Sultan Alauddin Shah's tomb is in the town of Bota Kanan, near the tomb of the late Sultan Ahmaddin Shah (18th Sultan of Perak).
