Perak Government Helps 9,000 Recipients Celebrate Aidilfitri with RM1.35 Million Allocation
TAPAH – As a step to enliven the Aidilfitri atmosphere, the Perak State Government has allocated RM1.35 million to assist 9,000 eligible recipients across the state. This aid is distributed in the form of vouchers worth RM150 for each recipient, which can be used to purchase Hari Raya necessities at selected clothing stores.
Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, explained that this aid is provided to the underprivileged and senior citizens in all 59 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) constituencies. He also emphasized that this initiative aims to ensure those in need can experience the joy of celebrating Aidilfitri with new clothes that suit their individual preferences.
“For the 33 DUN constituencies represented by Government Assemblymen (ADUN), this aid will be delivered directly by them. Meanwhile, in the 26 Opposition DUN constituencies, the distribution will be carried out by Special Officers to the Perak Menteri Besar,” Saarani explained when met by reporters at the Meriah Beraya Sejahtera Bersama program at Dewan Kampung Dato Kamaruddin, Bidor, recently.
The program, held on Sunday, was also attended by the Perak Exco for Women, Family, Social Welfare, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Salbiah Mohamed. At the event, Saarani also presented RM150 vouchers to 150 recipients in the Ayer Kuning DUN constituency.
Saarani also stated the state government's readiness to review the need to increase the allocation amount in the future if there are relevant proposals. “This program has entered its third year of implementation. Initially, each recipient only received RM120, but now that amount has been increased to RM150,” he said.
One of the aid recipients, Normarziana Abd Manap, 41, a single mother of six, expressed her gratitude to the state government for the assistance she received. She, who earns RM1,500 a month selling cakes and snacks, admitted that the aid has eased her family's burden in celebrating Aidilfitri this year.
“Previously, there were years we had to celebrate without new clothes. However, with this aid, we can buy new outfits for the children. This brings a bit of joy to us,” she said with appreciation.
This aid program not only helps ease the financial burden of the underprivileged but also enlivens the spirit of community and the government's concern for its people. With the allocation provided, it is hoped that more recipients can feel the joy of celebrating Aidilfitri with gratitude and happiness.
