Date palms are a type of palm tree in the Phoenix genus grown on a large scale for their fruit. Dates are very popular among the Malay community during the month of Ramadan, and demand during that holy month is much higher than usual.

In today's article, orangperak.com wants to share about a date palm entrepreneur in the state of Perak. It tells the story of a Perak native from Kampung Kolam, Kuala Kangsar, named Mohd Syful Bin Abd Manap.
Mohd Syful was born on February 23, 1982, and now resides in Taman Klebang Putra, Chemor. He is an alumnus of Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Clifford and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Clifford. After completing his primary and secondary education in 1999, Mohd Syful continued his studies at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in Merbok, Kedah, with a Diploma in Business Studies.
Initially, Mohd Syful started dabbling in germinating and sowing dates as a hobby in 2008 while renting in Taman Anda, located in Bercham, Ipoh. In 2013, he moved to Taman Klebang Putra and focused on date germination full-time.
Mohd Syful's wife, Nur Nadira, is the main driver of their business operations, which are run from their home yard. Operating under the business entity Syful Tamar (IP0399353-V) with the tagline "Pokok Kurma - Made In Malaysia," they are now often the talk of the town.
Their home yard serves as a mini nursery for sowing and germinating date palms, while a small space inside the house is provided for discussing marketing modus operandi and documentation.
Syful Tamar's service policy is based on landscaping, plantation, and Date Palm Waqf. Customer ownership of date palms from 2008 to early 2014 focused more on landscaping for home yards, mosques, or business premises.
In future plans, Syful Tamar, operating in Chemor, is trying to reach a higher level by collecting information and data from their previous customers to document date fruit production information in more detail as input for the date plantation sector in Malaysia.
