Usop Wilcha, or Shy8, gained popularity as an actor known for portraying characters with the thickest Perak accent in the Malaysian acting industry.

Syed Mohamad Asri, or as fans better know him, Usop Wilcha or Shy8, gained popularity as an actor known for portraying characters with the thickest Perak accent in the Malaysian acting industry. Usop Wilcha was born in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, and frequently starred in films directed by Mamat Khalid. Everyone knows that Usop Wilcha is a character who speaks with a Perak accent and uses a wheelchair. For your information, the name 'WilCha' is derived from 'Wheel Chair'.

Did you know that Usop Wilcha was originally a singer, not an actor? He began his artistic journey as a singer, releasing his debut album titled 'Terasing Di Bumi Sendiri' in 1996, which featured 10 songs distributed by the company Ambang Klasik. His foray into singing did not receive much attention and lasted less than a year.

After failing in the music industry, he tried his hand at acting and eventually succeeded in getting offers as an extra in several drama series. After some time, his acquaintance with director Mamat Khalid opened a new chapter for Usop Wilcha, as he successfully landed acting roles in several dramas directed by Mamat Khalid. For your information, he is also the uncle of actress Scha Al-Yahya.

Usop Wilcha's name began to rise when he played the character Usop Wilcha in the film 'Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah'. Following that, his acting career brightened after receiving several acting offers for other films, playing characters named Usop in 'Zombi Kampung Pisang', 'Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah', and others. In mid-2011, he received an offer to be a radio presenter for Hot FM.

Now, he has ended his tenure as a radio presenter and wishes to focus entirely on his family, while still continuing his work and filming projects with Mamat Khalid to this day.

Thank you to Syed Mohamad Asri for indirectly elevating the name of Perak throughout Malaysia through his natural acting with a Perak accent.
