The Hottest Hipster Donuts in Kuala Kangsar
Usually, we can only enjoy colorful and flavored donuts at famous franchise chains, right? For example, Big Apple and Dunkin Donuts. Now, you can enjoy various types of donuts with attractive flavors and colors at a much cheaper price.
For residents around Kuala Kangsar, they can now enjoy modernized traditional pastries, better known as 'hipster donuts', at a humble stall for a much lower price. The stall, operated by a married couple, Mohd Izwan Mohamad Nazir, 36, and his wife, Nor Nafishah Ab Hamid, 35, in Taman Chandan Puteri, has become a crowd favorite since it went viral. Nor Nafishah shared that she started making these colorful donuts in strawberry, durian, pandan, chocolate, and blueberry flavors about two weeks ago. She has been selling other pastries like Malaysian burgers, cucur badak, curry puffs, and cheese bananas for the past two years, but these donuts were only recently introduced at her stall. The hipster donuts she makes are sold for RM0.50 each, with up to 600 sold daily. She was surprised by the situation because they suddenly became a hit, and she was unaware that her donuts had gone viral on Facebook. Since then, many customers have come to try her hipster donuts, and they have become a crowd favorite. The mother of three said she uses 15 kilograms of flour to produce about 600 donuts a day, assisted by her husband at the stall every day.
According to Nor Nafishah, she now has regular customers, and some are willing to place orders in advance by phone for fear that the donuts and other pastries will sell out. She also accepts catering orders for events on Saturdays and Sundays to supplement the family's income. For those who want to experience the uniqueness and deliciousness of these 'hipster donuts', you can visit their stall in Taman Chandan Puteri, Kuala Kangsar. If you ask the local residents, they will surely be able to point you in the right direction. Happy trying, and best of luck to the couple, Mohd Izwan Mohamad Nazir and his wife, Nor Nafishah Ab Hamid.
