Sultan of Perak Hugged by Unidentified Individual During Perak State National Day Celebration

As the Perak state anthem echoed majestically, signaling the start of the 2025 National Day celebration for the state of Perak at the Ipoh City Hall grounds here today, the festive atmosphere was marred by an unexpected incident when the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzudin Shah, was suddenly approached and hugged by an unidentified individual.

The sequence of events captured the woman initially being on the main stage of the celebration, which was adorned with a line-up of dignitaries. Unexpectedly, she then rushed towards Sultan Nazrin before hugging His Royal Highness from his right side.

The incident, which alarmed many, occurred while the Perak State Anthem was playing to mark the commencement of the celebration.

The woman's actions were, however, successfully neutralized by the security team who acted swiftly, before His Royal Highness returned to his official position. The woman has been detained for further investigation.
