Sultan Mansur Shah II (7th Sultan of Perak)
After Sultan Mukaddam (the 6th Sultan of Perak) passed away in 1619 in Acheh, a Perak dignitary holding the title Maharaja Lela traveled to Johor.
At that time, Perak was still under the suzerainty of Acheh. Therefore, all decisions concerning Perak required the consent of the Sultan of Acheh. Nevertheless, Maharaja Lela bypassed the Acheh kingdom and proceeded directly to Johor to find a descendant of the Perak sultans to be installed as the 7th Sultan of Perak. Maharaja Lela brought Raja Mansur back to Perak. Raja Mansur was the son of Raja Kecil Lasa (Raja Inu) and the grandson of the late Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin Shah (the 3rd Sultan of Perak).

After being brought back to Perak, Raja Mansur was installed as the 7th Sultan of Perak with the title Sultan Mansur Shah II. Sultan Mansur Shah II resided in Semat. According to the chronicles of the Perak sultans, during his reign, it is said that Sultan Mansur Shah II frequently traveled back and forth to Johor because he had another wife there. In 1627, after reigning for 8 years, he passed away while in Johor and was buried there. However, there are conflicting accounts regarding this when compared to other known historical records of Perak.
According to known Perak history, in 1627, Sultan Iskandar Mahkota Alam (the Sultan of Acheh) sent a delegation of high-ranking officials from Acheh to Perak. The purpose of the delegation was to remove Sultan Mansur Shah II from the Perak throne, as Perak was still under Acheh's authority at the time. Furthermore, Sultan Mansur Shah II had ascended the throne without the approval of the Acheh kingdom. In the delegation, the Achehnese officials also brought the younger brother of the late Sultan Mukaddam Shah. Raja Bongsu or Raja Yusof, who was the younger brother of the late Sultan Mukaddam Shah, was appointed by the Achehnese officials to replace Sultan Mansur Shah II. Sultan Mansur Shah II was then taken to Acheh and is said to have passed away there. To this day, there is no definitive explanation as to which historical account is more accurate.
In the official pamphlet for the coronation of Sultan Yusuf Izzuddin Shah in 1949, it is written that Sultan Mansur Shah was taken to Acheh and passed away there.
However, in the official pamphlet for the coronation of Sultan Idris Shah II (the 33rd Sultan of Perak), it is mentioned that Sultan Mansur Shah II passed away in Johor and was titled Marhum Mangkat di Johor (The Late Sultan who passed away in Johor). To this day, the tomb of Sultan Mansur Shah II has not been located in either Johor or Acheh. Nevertheless, many believe the version of the story where Sultan Mansur Shah II passed away in Acheh.
