Presentation Ceremony of Sultan Nazrin Shah's Qurban Cattle for Hilir Perak District

Hari Raya Aidiladha, also known as Hari Raya Korban, is one of the most important celebrations in the Islamic calendar. It is not just a grand day, but a symbol of sacrifice, devotion, and a servant's obedience to their Creator.

In the state of Perak, the 1446 Hijrah Aidiladha celebration was made more meaningful by the generosity of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, who gifted Qurban cattle to every district in the state.

For the Hilir Perak district, the presentation ceremony for the Qurban cattle was conducted with great decorum and respect, involving state dignitaries and the local community.

The Concern of HRH Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah for the Qurban Ritual

Indeed, the nobility of a leader is measured by their concern for the people. HRH Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah has proven his generosity and compassion by gifting three Qurban cattle to each district in the state of Perak. This initiative not only facilitates the performance of the Qurban ritual but also strengthens the spirit of Islamic brotherhood among the community.

The Sultan's concern in carrying out this Qurban ritual reflects his commitment to ensuring that Islam continues to flourish perfectly in this state. The Qurban ritual is not merely an annual ceremony, but also a medium to assist the underprivileged and strengthen social ties within the community.

The Role of the Hilir Perak Territorial Chief in the Qurban Cattle Presentation Ceremony

To facilitate the Qurban ritual in Hilir Perak, HRH Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah consented for the Orang Kaya-Kaya Laksamana Raja Mahkota, who also serves as the Hilir Perak Territorial Chief, Dato’ Dr. Hj. Meor Redwan bin Mahayudin, to represent him at the presentation ceremony.

The selection of Masjid Ar-Rahmaniah, Labu Kubong, as the location for this year's Qurban ritual further highlighted the harmony and unity of Muslims in this district. The presence of state dignitaries such as YDH Toh Mahkota Lela, Tn. Hj. Abu Bakar @ Yusof bin Mohamad, the Labu Kubong Mukim Chief, Village Heads, the Imam of Masjid Ar-Rahmaniah, and the mosque committee members added to the vibrancy of the event.

Aidiladha Prayers and the Qurban Cattle Presentation Process

On the morning of the celebration, approximately 300 congregants filled Masjid Ar-Rahmaniah to perform the Aidiladha sunnah prayers. A solemn and moving atmosphere was felt throughout the prayers, accompanied by a sermon emphasizing the importance of sacrifice and obedience to Allah SWT.

After the prayers, Dato’ Dr. Hj. Meor Redwan bin Mahayudin, as the representative of HRH the Sultan of Perak, officially read the Qurban Cattle Presentation Deed. The handover letter was presented to the mosque management as a sign of trust to carry out the Qurban ritual perfectly.

The Spirit of Brotherhood in the Qurban Slaughter

After the presentation ceremony, all attendees gathered at the Qurban slaughter site. The slaughtering process was carried out in an orderly manner and in accordance with Islamic law. The spirit of cooperation and mutual assistance among the community was clearly visible, proving that the Qurban ritual is not just an individual act, but a manifestation of the unity of the Ummah.

The Qurban meat was then distributed fairly to the asnaf (eligible recipients), the poor, and the local community. Every recipient felt the joy of the Sultan's generosity, which in turn strengthened the bonds of friendship within the community.

The presentation of Qurban cattle by HRH Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah in the Hilir Perak District does not only fulfill a religious obligation but also reflects a leadership that is concerned and responsible for the welfare of the people. This noble initiative has further ignited the spirit of Islam and unity among the community.

May the performance of this Qurban ritual bring the mercy and blessings of Allah SWT to the state of Perak and all Muslims. It is hoped that the blessings of Aidiladha will bring peace, prosperity, and well-being to all.

As citizens of Perak, we are grateful for the leadership and generosity of HRH Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah. May all the sacrifices and acts of worship performed be accepted by Allah SWT and bring benefits to the entire Muslim community.
