Perak Syariah Judiciary Department Introduces eKSPerk to Simplify Syariah Court Matters
The Perak Syariah Judiciary Department has taken a step forward in digital transformation by launching the Perak Syariah Judiciary Electronic Public Module (eKSPerk) website. This website serves as a facilitation platform for the public to prepare and fill out registration forms for selected cases in the state's Syariah courts.
According to the Chief Syarie Judge of Perak, Datuk Ab Rahman Thobroni Mohd Mansor, eKSPerk, which has been accessible via eksperk.perak.gov.my since June 10, allows the public to register several specific types of cases. Among the cases supported by this system are applications for mutual consent divorce, claims for confirmation of divorce pronouncements, applications for underage marriage, and applications for a wali hakim (judge as guardian).
He explained that this initiative was created specifically to assist those who do not use legal services for case registration. “It (eKSPerk) was created to help the public with case registration for those who do not use the services of a lawyer. They often face difficulties in preparing documentation, including the forms required according to existing regulations,” he said.
With eKSPerk, the public can now enter information and case facts more systematically without worrying about errors in document preparation. “So with eKSPerk, it makes it easier for the public to input various information and necessary case facts,” added Ab Rahman Thobroni after the Perak Syariah Judiciary Department 2024 Excellence Appreciation ceremony here on Friday.
At the initial stage, users still need to print the completed forms before submitting them to the court. However, he mentioned that his department is working on upgrading the system so that documents filled out in eKSPerk can be automatically transferred into the e-syariah system.
Although this new system has been introduced, case registration forms provided by third parties or individuals can still be used as long as they comply with the format and language standards set by the court.
Perak is the first state to implement such a module, and it is highly likely that other states will follow suit in the future. “So far, only the Perak Syariah Judiciary Department has implemented such a module, and it may be followed by other state Syariah judiciary departments,” he said.
With the implementation of eKSPerk, it is hoped that the case registration process in Syariah courts will become faster, more systematic, and user-friendly, thereby increasing the effectiveness of judicial services in the state.
