PAFA Appoints Syamsul Saad as New Perak FA Head Coach
The Perak Football Association (PAFA) today announced the appointment of Syamsul Saad as the new Perak FA Head Coach to face the 2025/2026 A1 Semi-Pro League season and the 2026 Malaysia Games (SUKMA) in Selangor.
The appointment of the experienced former player and coach was announced after PAFA previously confirmed the appointment of the Perak Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Director, Datuk Ahmad Sabri Mohamed, as Team Manager.
PAFA President, Datuk Mohd Azhar Jamaluddin, said the selection of Syamsul, who is better known as 'Coach Choi', was based on his extensive experience in state football development.
“Syamsul is no stranger to the Perak football arena. He has worn the state jersey and contributed his expertise as a coach previously,” he said in a statement on the official Perak FA Facebook page today.
Syamsul previously held several important positions in state football coaching, including Assistant Head Coach of Perak FA (2012–2013), Head Coach of the President's Cup and SUKMA squads (2014–2016), and leading the main team in the 2017 Super League competition.
With this appointment, PAFA hopes to strengthen the team's preparations for the new season and the 2026 SUKMA tournament.
