The King of Aceh commanded the Bendahara of Perak to retrieve the durian fruit requested by his queen, threatening him with execution if he failed. The Bendahara accepted the order but requested a one-week extension, which the King granted. The Bendahara then returned to his prison cell.

The King of Aceh's wrath could no longer be reasoned with, and without any warning, Aceh attacked Perak. The Bendahara of Perak was not at Kota Geronggong when the attack occurred as he was seeking treatment in Ulu Kinta. Due to the lack of preparation for war, Perak was defeated. The Sultan of Perak was captured and taken to Aceh to be imprisoned.

The Legend of Puteri Limau Purut in Perak (Part 1)
As the story goes, one day a royal delegation from Aceh arrived at the Sultan of Perak's palace in Geronggong to propose to Puteri Limau Purut. The delegation was granted an audience with the Sultan to present their purpose. After hearing their request, the Sultan ordered that the answer be deferred to a later time. The delegation then returned to their own land to report the delay.
