5th Perak Youth Assembly Appointed, Ready to Lead the Voices of the Youth

A new chapter begins for Perak youth today with the Swearing-in Ceremony of the 5th Perak State Youth Assembly Committee for the 2025-2026 session held at 2.00 pm. This historic event marks the official appointment of the new leadership line-up, including the Speaker, Deputy Speaker I & II, Secretary, and Assistant Secretary I & II, who will shoulder the responsibility of championing the aspirations of the state's younger generation.

This dignified ceremony was witnessed by YB Khairudin bin Abu Hanipah, Perak State Executive Councillor for Education, Higher Education, Youth and Sports; YB Jenny Choy Tsi Jen, Deputy Speaker of the Perak State Legislative Assembly; and Tuan Mohd Ikram bin Ahmad, Secretary of the Perak State Legislative Assembly. The presence of these state leaders demonstrates the government's commitment to providing space and support for youth leadership.

Also present to offer encouragement were Mr. Aldrin Ng, Director of the Perak Youth Aspiration Centre (PASAK); Encik Iqbal Jamal bin Jamaludin, Director of the Perak State Strategic Communications Unit (STRATCOMM); and Dr. Maisarah binti Ahmad, Chief Executive of Institut Darul Ridzuan (IDR). Their presence reflects the close cooperation between government agencies and youth representatives.

Congratulations are extended to Associate Professor Sr Dr. Mohd Azian bin Zaidi on his appointment as the Speaker of the Perak State Youth Assembly for this session. Also taking on important responsibilities are Muhammad Asree bin Abdul Aziz (Deputy Speaker I), Malik Syam bin Mohammed Latiff (Deputy Speaker II), Noor Azwan bin Mohd Taib (Secretary), Darwisyah Izatti Azmira binti Mohd Yunus (Assistant Secretary I), and Muhammad Faiz Nazrin bin Zulkeflee (Assistant Secretary II).

For your information, Cikgu Malik Syam bin Mohammed Latiff, who was appointed as the Deputy Speaker II of the Perak Youth Assembly this time, is a writer and volunteer for Orang Perak. He has been active with Orang Perak since 2018. Previously, he served as a member of the Perak State Youth Assembly, President of GPMS Batang Padang, and President of the Batang Padang District Youth Council. This appointment is well-deserved given his contributions to the youth thus far. We at Orang Perak are proud of his presence in the Perak State Youth Assembly and wish him success in steering the assembly for this new session.

The 5th Perak State Youth Assembly is expected to hold its first sitting in August 2025, where action plans and new initiatives for Perak youth will be presented.
